Why we built PupilDB

PupilDB started as the system behind a multi-centre education provider that works with pupils referred by schools and local authorities. They needed to know every pupil well: their medical needs, their placement, who collects them and how often they attend. And they needed to prove it to the people who commission their places.

Spreadsheets couldn’t keep up, and big school information systems were built for a different kind of school. So we built the system with them, and it runs their day: pupil records, timetables across several centres, registers, reports and staff checks.

Now we’re opening PupilDB up to other alternative provision providers, tuition centres, pupil referral units and small schools that work the same way.
